Worship Through Giving
We believe that the giving of tithes, 10% of one’s income, and offerings is God’s ordained method of financially supporting the local church.
1 Corinthians 16:2
On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.
2 Corinthians 9:7
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
However, we also recognize that the giving of time, gifts and talents, and non-monetary resources are also important in fulfilling God’s purpose for the Church.
As we worship God through giving we show our recognition of the fact that “every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down ‘to us’ from the Father” (James 1:17).
